A Network To Overcome NTD
More than 1.4 billion people worldwide suffer from Neglected Tropical Disease mainly in the poorest countries. The Global Network for NTD, an International association formed to eliminate and destroy the deadly disease. This was launched by the former President Bill Clinton in an Annual meeting in 2006. The association tied up with WHO, ministries, pharmaceutical companies and treated the affected people. Currently, they are increasing their network in the focal point of Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Global Network members are experts and practitioners who have a main motto of overcome the disease. 546 million people were given treatment for elephantiasis in 2007. With the support of Global Network, Ghana, a West African Country saw a gradual eradication of Trachoma.
